I heard a woman at 100 years old interviewed a few years ago who was asked what made her life successful (among other things she had been an artist). She replied that at some point in her life she decided that she would live each day more colorful than the last. This piece depicts this idea of taking charge of ones life and ones own happiness.
The body of this piece is divided in sections with color on one side, texture and random letters on the other side symbolizing continued learning. The line down the middle symbolizes the conflict within and the struggle to harmonize the differences between the sides.
