Thank for visiting my website!

I create original, figurative clay sculptures that bring to life ordinary people and the lives they represent - from a parent sharing a moment with a child to a woman walking her dog to a person contemplating life. Many of my pieces deal with a search for purpose and identity. The line down the middle divides this conflict and the textures, color and designs on the surface of the sculptures show the struggle to harmonize these differences between the two sides.
The goal with my sculptures is to connect us through the intricacies of the human experience- there are experiences and emotions that we all share, regardless of gender, race or culture.  As with all my pieces, they are originals built from slabs and coils of stoneware clay.    My narratives, color choices, painterly approach and the configurations I use make my pieces unique and truly one-of-a-kind.

I have a working studio and studio gallery in Des Moines at Mainframe Studios (900 Keo Way) and can meet you there or send you images of available pieces if you are interested in a purchase. You can call or text me at 515 975 0979 to make arrangements for a visit or tour.  I'm in Studio 435.

Please note: Most recent artwork can be found in the 'works' section under 'Current Work.'  It is almost impossible to photograph and post all pieces that I create, so if you see a piece you're interested in it is possible I may have another that is similar--and of course I can always create another original piece that is similar to the work you like.
